Enjoy old Ojai in a spacious, bright, and well-appointed ranch home with 2 acres to explore in the East End of the Ojai Valley, featuring a thriving and fragrant citrus & avocado orchard with wraparound views of the valley, Topa Topa, and pink moments. Lower acre is separate from the house and is home to my orchard crew, Ben and Mark, permaculture educators.

The space

My Ojai home is furnished with my finds and treasures from when I was a Set Decorator for TV and Film. I have created spaces and opportunities to relax and luxuriate, taking in the views and scents of Ojai. My space also benefits from my belief in and cultivation of a natural living environment, as I am dedicated to using organic bedding and towels and chemical-free cleaning products. I have installed an expensive and comprehensive water purification system so that you can drink water from the tap and bath in filtered water. Ping pong, corn hole, hammocks, porch with a sweeping view, picnic tables, tether ball, luxurious fire pit, BBQ, clay court tennis, redwood hot tub & indoor fireplace are also opportunities to enjoy your vacation and time in Ojai. My house is in a quiet neighborhood close to Thacher, Meditation Mount & the Krishnamurti Center while also being 8 minutes by car to downtown Ojai. I have a TESLA charging 240 V outlet that is available for guests to use. Please bring your own cord if you are interested in charging while at the house. I am a permitted Homeshare with Ventura County which is required to legally rent short-term in Ojai. My tenant who lives across the driveway uses the garage for parking and storage. The garage is not part of the airbnb house rental. The impact of their presence may be the sound of the garage door and a distant visual of her accessing the garage from the side door beyond the backyard near the back shed which holds the garbage cans. I mention this dynamic so you are not surprised if you see someone in the distance or hear an unexpected sound coming from the garage. Both activities are minimal and usually undetectable and unnoticed.

This is a much-loved 1970s house: splinters, thorns, and a low-tech hot tub are part of the charm. Grand Piano to be shared with experienced and respectful players only. There is WIFI. Please be aware that if you use the hot tub, tennis court, and any other amenities, you are responsible for any damages or injuries incurred during your stay. Pets are included in your reservation for an additional fee once vetted with correspondence. Do not return any dishes or pots/pans to the cabinets dirty. Please keep your shoes out of the house. No smoking anywhere on the property. Please be respectful of neighbors.

Before you leave

Additional requests

If here with dog, please make sure to pick up & bag all dog droppings. Then throw tied bags in dark green bin in shed behind garage. Also, return all outdoor & sports equipment to where you found it. Return clean dishes to cabinets. Clean dishes & leave drying in dish rack or place in dishwasher & run it mostly full by placing a detergent pod in the holder on the door. Clear out fridge of food.
